Remote monitoring services

At Shoden Data Systems we understand that managing various elements of a data center can be a daunting task, to say the least. Constant focus has to be placed on driving down costs, maximising utilisation and increasing the reliability of data protection.

In order to assist customers with these challenges Shoden Data Systems have created a Reporting Service (as part of Shoden Remote Services) that can provide detailed reporting on all the essential aspects of your storage, virtual server- and backup environments, including:

  • Backup reporting monitoring and reporting for the most popular backup solutions,
  • SAN/NAS capacity reporting and monitoring from the storage array, to the host, down to the application,
  • VMware capacity and performance reporting, monitoring, and alerting.

Data collectors are installed within the customer’s data center which gather meta-data about resources such as storage, virtual server farms or backup environments and push it through to the Shoden portal via a secure http/s link. The technology underpinning the services offering is completely agent-less, which cuts down on employment times and reduces the resource requirement at a host level.

Through the use of web 2.0 interface abilities reports can easily be created and shared amongst different levels of users. Delivery of standard and customised reports via email is completely automated.

Some of the benefits of using Remote Monitoring Service from Shoden Data Systems:

  • No investment in hardware (e.g. servers, storage etc.) required
  • No administration required by customer, Shoden does it all!
  • Instantaneous value is derived through the use of the Out-of-Box-reports
  • Used by all levels in the organisation - from users to management
